NOT OLD

Age Is Not Old
Age is not the same as being old.
One is truth.
The other is a label.
Age marks time. It simply tells you how long you have been here. Nothing more.
But old…Old is something people place on you. It carries weight that was never meant to be yours.
Old can mean worn out.
Finished.
Declining.
Past your use by date.
And if you are not careful, you will accept a word that begins to shape how you see yourself.
In scripture, there is honour in age—not decline.
Proverbs speaks of grey hair as a crown of splendour.
Isaiah declares, “Even to your old age and grey hairs I am He who sustains you.”
God does not withdraw life because years have passed.
He sustains it.
So the difference is simple:
Age is a measure.
Old is a mindset.
Age cannot be changed.
But old can be accepted—or rejected.
When someone calls you old, you have a choice.
You can receive it, or you can quietly refuse it.
Because if there is still life in you, clarity in you, strength in you—then you are not old.
You are living.
There are many with little age who are already old—tired, shut down, finished within themselves.
And there are others, full of years, who are alive, sharp, and present.
So do not let a word define you that does not belong to you.
If it does not align with life—it is not yours.
And it can be left where it came from.
