Treasures in Heaven

When we meet God, many of us pray for wisdom.
We start life making foolish mistakes. From there, we can either remain in ignorance — or move forward into knowledge.
But there is a distinction: Knowledge of the world is one thing, Knowledge of God is another. And it’s only when we separate the two that we begin to step toward wisdom.
The journey often looks like this:
• Foolishness
• Ignorance
• Worldly knowledge
• Godly knowledge
• Wisdom
That first prayer for wisdom is rarely answered in a moment. It is not a silent request that instantly transports us into wisdom’s fullness. It takes years. It takes testing. It takes learning the difference between the two realms of knowledge.
Then comes vision.
Vision can be for building on earth — or it can be heavenly. From experience, I can say: God often allows vision on earth to teach us wisdom. But remember His words: “Why store up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy? Store up treasures in heaven.”
How do we store treasures in heaven?
By having no idols before God. House. Family. Work. Business. Sports. Body. Cars. Possessions, all can become idols if they take His place.
Storing treasure in heaven means removing everything that comes before Him. It is saying with your life: “Nothing is higher than the King and Creator of all things. ”It's letting His love flow here on earth as it does in heaven.
Some are ordained by God to build businesses. But that becomes their battleground — to keep from being caught in the crossfire of the world.
Knowing both the traps of the world and the ways of God is the platform that moves us toward wisdom. It is choosing God over the world yet not being naïve about the world’s pull. If we ignore that, we risk becoming part of the compromised church — the one God warns when He judges His people at the end of the story.
With all my big ideas through the years, I’ve found that simplicity is wisdom. Living close to nature, with food, shelter, and family — this is the baseline for life.
Family is one of God’s first ordinations. It is His pearl of great price.
I’ve always pictured family like an oyster. Place a grain of sand inside, and it irritates. You can spit it out, or you can let it remain until it becomes a pearl.
If you want all that God has, restore your family to what He intended from the beginning. Let Him turn the irritations into pearls, the fractures into beauty.
If you want wisdom, move beyond merely separating from the world — step into the order of His Kingdom. Put Him first in every room of your life. Remember — My Father’s house has many rooms. You are His temple, the place where He lives. I will come and dwell with My people.
Because in the end, wisdom is not just knowing what is right — it is living with nothing between you and God. It is walking so close to Him that even the treasures you love are safe in His hands.
The call is before you now: Choose what moth and rust can never touch. Choose the treasure that will follow you into eternity.
