The Narrow Way

From Glory to Glory
To walk the walk of faith is not a single leap but a steady journey—line by line, from glory to glory. Each step invites us deeper into the life of Christ until His fullness dwells within our being.
Learning to Follow Without a Map
When we first encountered Christ, there was no one holding a torch to show the way. It was up to us to trust Him, to follow His ways even when they seemed upside down to the world.
At first, to love our enemies and pray for them felt impossible. But over time, what was once heavy became light. To love our neighbour as ourselves was another hurdle, yet in the end, we saw the truth: love covers all sins.
And then there are friends. Every friend or associate I have had represented a part of me that I needed to overcome. I have one friend who keeps reemerging after every fallout we have. She is one who is willing to overcome and follow Christ.
"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." — Proverbs 27:17
Christ Becoming Our Reality
Each line of the walk is Christ becoming reality in us. Little by little, the self-fades and there is no other but Him. To love Him with all our heart, mind, and strength—without leaning on our own understanding—becomes not just an idea but a rhythm woven into our days.
Seeing Through His Image
The transformation is profound: we no longer see through our own image, but through His. Our sight, our steps, our strength—He has become all that we see.
The reflection is Him.
"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." — 2 Corinthians 3:18
The Narrow Road Few Find
How far you walk is left to each individual. Many are content to remain within the rhythm of Sunday gatherings, week after week but never moving beyond the surface. Yet others, stirred by something deeper, stepped outside the familiar circuit of the world and chose the narrow road — the road less travelled, the path of which Scripture says, “few find it.”
"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:14
Born Again and Enduring to the End
I have often heard it preached that when we are born again, we are saved. But Scripture shows us there is more. Being born again is the beginning — the doorway into life with Christ.
"Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." — John 3:3
Yet Jesus also spoke of endurance:
"He who endures to the end shall be saved." — Matthew 24:13
The truth is not one or the other — it is both. We are born again into salvation, but we are also called to walk it out, to endure until the end.
Paul puts it in balance:
"By grace you have been saved through faith…" — Ephesians 2:8
“…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” — Philippians 2:12
Salvation is both entry and completion:
New birth saves us into Christ.
Endurance is overcoming our fallen nature and keeping us in Christ until the end.
"I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." — Philippians 3:14
