The Space He Stands
What happens when the steps you were following disappear?
Jesus Christ defined the boundaries in the space in which He stood.
No man, no spirit, no scheme of darkness could cross the line He drew.
1. Boundaries with People
Crowds: When people pressed in, He withdrew to pray (Luke 5:16). His space was defined by intimacy with the Father, not the demands of the crowd.
Religious Leaders: When Pharisees tried to trap Him, He set verbal and spiritual boundaries — answering with wisdom that stopped them from invading His space with false accusations (Matthew 22:18–22).
Family and Friends: He clarified that His true family were “those who do the will of My Father” (Matthew 12:48–50). His boundary was not flesh-and-blood ties, but obedience to God.
2. Boundaries with Spiritual Opposition
Demons: He commanded them to be silent and leave (Mark 1:25). Evil spirits could not cross the line of His authority.
Temptation: In the wilderness, He set a boundary with Satan using Scripture: “It is written…” (Matthew 4:4–10).
3. Boundaries of Holiness and Kingdom Space
Temple: When the temple was defiled, Jesus physically cleared it, establishing the boundary: “My house shall be called a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:12–13).
Healing and Forgiveness: His presence created a new atmosphere — holiness, healing, and freedom — redefining what belonged to God’s kingdom in contrast to the world’s order.
4. The Inner Boundary
Most profoundly, Jesus lived from a clear inner boundary: “I only do what I see the Father doing” (John 5:19). His space was marked by unbroken alignment with heaven, and nothing was allowed to move Him outside that place.
That’s where we are to live from. It’s the overcoming that gets you there. And when you overcome, something shifts:You no longer merely follow Him at a distance — you abide in Him.You step fully into His being, until it is no longer you who live but Christ living in you (Galatians 2:20). Then your space is not just marked by Christ — it becomes the very expression of Christ on earth as in heaven.
Where He stood — there was the Kingdom. Where He walked — holiness pushed back every shadow. When He spoke — truth cut through deception like a sword.
He did not yield His space to crowds or demands. He withdrew into prayer, so the Father’s presence alone marked His boundaries. He did not let the Pharisees invade with lies;He answered with wisdom, and their accusations fell powerless. He did not let Satan breach His ground: “It is written,” He declared, and the enemy fled beyond the line of His word.
Even the temple, when corrupted, He cleansed.“My Father’s house shall be called a house of prayer.” In His zeal, He redrew the boundary for all to see.
The space around Him was not empty ground — it was Kingdom ground. It was holy space. It was defined by obedience to the Father, and nothing could move Him from it.
And now He says:
No Longer I
As I was in the world, so you are in the world.Stand, and let your space be marked by Me.Where you stand in Me, the Kingdom stands in you and radiates from you.”
When the steps you were following disappear, you realize: there is only one set of footsteps — His.
