Friendship With God
John 15:15
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends…”
Revelatory — “I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father.” Friendship with God means being entrusted with divine truth.
Holy Access — It’s not an equal relationship. It’s a grace-given closeness — not peer-based, but presence-based. It lifts us into His counsel.
Sanctified Trust — Friendship with God is marked by faith, obedience, and righteousness. It’s not about companionship, but alignment.
Friendship With Humans
Conditional — Often built on shared preferences, seasons, or needs.
Temporal — Friendships rise and fall with changes, misunderstandings, or personal growth.
Emotional — They can comfort, but also confuse — shaped by ego, validation, or expectation.
Identifying — People say “my friend” as a claim — someone who reflects them, supports them, or agrees with them.
The Divide
Friendship with God is not equal footing — It’s divine intimacy offered by the One who formed us.
Human friendship may echo this…But when truth, holiness, or purpose enter the room many friendships fade.
