Eternity's Thread

Every generation that has truly seen something of the Father's heart has naturally felt the weight of what it has seen.

They have seen something of Him so clearly that it can feel as though,

This is it.

We are the generation that will bring the fullness of Christ into the earth.

But perhaps what they were actually experiencing was their portion of His unfolding.

No generation has carried His coming alone.

Each generation carries something of the revelation of Christ and hands that inheritance onward.

Paul gives us a beautiful picture of this:

“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.”— 1 Corinthians 3:6

One generation plants something it may never see mature.

Another waters what it did not plant.

Another receives something already growing and carries it further.

What appeared unfinished in one generation becomes the inheritance of another.

Hebrews speaks of generations who lived by faith and yet did not receive the fullness of what had been promised.

“That they should not be made perfect apart from us.”— Hebrews 11:40

Their journey reaches into ours.

What they carried was not lost because they did not see its completion within their lifetime. Their faith became part of the ground upon which another generation would stand.

Perhaps the mistake has been believing that everything must be completed within our own generation.

The Father's purpose is greater than one generation.

Those who came before us carried something here.

We carry it further.

And what we carry becomes the inheritance of those who come after us.

We are not beginning the story.

We have inherited it.

And we are not carrying it for ourselves alone.

We carry what we have received of Christ into the generations that follow.

Each generation carrying forward what has been revealed until the fullness of God's purpose reaches its appointed moment.

When Christ appears, every eye will see Him coming with the clouds.

But is His coming as we have been taught?

I would say not.
