HELP

The Origin of Twisted “Help”

• Genesis 2:18–“It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

  
  

  Here, God created Eve as a pure helper — equal in value, aligned in purpose.

• But by Genesis 3:6, the serpent hijacks that very role: the woman gives the fruit, presenting it as “help” to Adam. What was meant for life becomes an entry point for death.

Help from Above (Pure)

• Psalm 121:1–2–“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.”

  
  

  True help is vertical — it flows from God, not man.

• Hebrews 13:6–“The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

  God’s help empowers, not manipulates.

Help Corrupted (Counterfeit)

• 2 Kings 9:22–“When Joram saw Jehu, he said, ‘Is it peace, Jehu?’ So he answered, ‘What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?’”

  
  

  Jezebel’s “help” to Ahab looked like support, but it was control, sorcery, and land-grabbing (Naboth’s vineyard in 1 Kings 21).

• Isaiah 30:1–2–“Woe to the rebellious children… who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; who walk to go down to Egypt, and have not asked My advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!”

  Here, “help” from Egypt was really bondage disguised as assistance.

False Help in the Last Days

• Daniel 11:34–“Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue.”

  A chilling prophecy: “help” can come, but only in part, and often it draws multitudes into corruption.

• Revelation 13:11–12 – The beast with two horns “exercises all the authority of the first beast… and causes the earth… to worship the first beast.”

  
  

  That looks like “help” (religious/spiritual guidance), but it’s actually deception leading to destruction.

Watch Out for “Help”

Jesus warned us to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16). Not every hand stretched out is holy.

So in the words of our Lord and Saviour: Watch out who is offering you HELP! For help can come at a price — with strings of control, with hooks of manipulation, with the poison of compromise.

But there is a pure help: “My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2).

That help asks for no payment but trust. That help delivers without ensnaring. That help is holy.
