7 Churches

The word “church” is used across various religions. They, however, identify their religion as “the Church”. Referring to their religious name as “the church” can be offensive because it excludes others. God considers everyone on earth part of His church, irrespective of their religious affiliation or their non affiliation. The religions that refer to themselves as “the Church” have a restricted view of God’s church.

God’s message to the seven churches includes every person on Earth.

God finds fault with five out of seven churches. Let’s examine those faults.

Church 1: The Church that Has Abandoned Its Love for Christ and His Teachings.

The initial church was established by individuals in the business world. He acknowledges their perseverance and diligent work. He also commends them for turning away false apostles.

Yet, I hold this against you: you have forsaken your first love for Him.

Church 2: The Church that Compromises Its Beliefs.

He commends the congregation for maintaining their faith amidst the city’s widespread pagan/worldly influences.

But God issues a warning to them.

He reproves members for adhering to false teachings resulting in religious and moral compromise.

Church 3: The Church that Follows False Prophets

God commends their growth in faith and service.

But their downfall was following false prophets who led them to idolatry and immorality within the church.

Church 4: The Church that is Spiritually Dead

The Lord had nothing good to say regarding this church.

Our Lord rebukes the church for appearing alive when it is spiritually dead. Jesus warns the congregation to awaken and repent before his judgment arrives unexpectedly.

Church 5: The Church that Patiently Endured Despite Weaknesses

The church’s faithful endurance of trials, in spite of their weakness, earns Christ’s praise.

This church is not reproved by Jesus, but its persecutors face his condemnation. Christ assures these faithful followers of protection during the “hour of trial,” promising them a place as pillars in God’s heavenly temple.

Church 6: The Church with a Lukewarm Faith

Jesus rebukes the church for prioritizing wealth over faith, highlighting that true spiritual riches come only from Him.

He makes a threat to spit them from His mouth.

Church 7: The Church that Remains Faithful Amidst Persecution

Christ’s revelation to the church affirms its spiritual wealth, contrasts it with material poverty, and acknowledges the injustice of its persecution.

Christ cautioned some members about a coming imprisonment, urging faithfulness “unto death” and the promised “victor’s crown”.

Christ does not have anything against this church.

                             -------------------

Each of us is affiliated with one of these churches. These churches are present in every religion, including the 2.5 billion people who have no religious affiliation.

We are the church; we are 1mob1god
