Joy Returns

Walls Came Down

Letting the walls down in our heart is part of the healing process — to allow the river of love to flow and give life. For years, we have put walls up to protect ourselves from the harm that has come our way.

But the Lord does not say to dam up the heart.

He says,

“I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” — Ezekiel 36:26

A heart that feels again.

A heart that lives again.

A heart that can love again.

Faith is not damming the flow.

Faith is believing to see something different from the harm that has come our way.

It is trusting that love can come again — and remain.

Love is not another man or woman filling the space. It is falling into God’s life, which is Love.

When the walls fall, something remarkable happens: you can feel life once again. You are not just slogging it out as in days gone by. You are feeling life and love as you walk in the day touch you in new ways.

The joy returns.

Pray:

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation.” — Psalm 51:12
